The Fashion Merchandising program at Sanford-Brown College-Hazelwood (SBC) is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the fashion merchandising and retail industries. Business, marketing, management and sales principles used within the fashion industry are presented as a means of developing concepts and refining merchandising skills. The curriculum is designed to develop competent multitasking skills, integrating conceptual and creative abilities with technical and sound business practices that can help prepare students for rewarding careers in the fashion industry.

The courses throughout the Fashion Merchandising program cover General Education, Professional Studies and Core Requirements; however, courses are not necessarily offered in the same sequences in which they appear in the catalog. Also, students will typically be taught by more than one instructor during the course of the Fashion Merchandising program. Graduates who have diligently attended classes, studied and practiced their skills should have the necessary skills to seek entry-level employment in the fashion merchandising and retail industries.

Sanford-Brown College-Hazelwood is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), a national accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (DOE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Accreditation is a voluntary process which may be undertaken by schools to demonstrate compliance with specific standards designed to indicate a level of education quality. This indicates that SBC substantially meets or exceeds the stated criteria of education quality established by ACICS, and approved by the DOE and CHEA. This recognition of institutional accreditation by ACICS entitles SBC to offer Title IV Financial Assistance to students who qualify.
